NBA Finals: Minnesota Timberwolves beat Dallas Mavericks in Game 4

The Minnesota Timberwolves remain in contention in the NBA Western Conference finals, propelled by Anthony Edwards' game-high 29 points and Karl-Anthony Towns' impressive three-point shooting, securing a 105-100 win over the Dallas Mavericks in Game 4.

This victory on Tuesday night marks their first in the best-of-seven series, earning them a Game 5 at home on Thursday night. The Timberwolves aim to make history by becoming the first NBA team to rally from a 3-0 deficit and advance in a playoff series.Winning the series wasn't the team's primary focus in Game 4, Anthony Edwards emphasized afterward.

"We just wanted to get one game and extend the series," he said. "I've never been swept in my career. I didn't want to get swept, especially not on their home court, with their fans talking trash all day."

Luka Doncic recorded a 28-point, 15-rebound, 10-assist triple-double for the fifth-seeded Mavericks, who had won the first two games of the series during their previous trip to Minneapolis.

After Minnesota built an early 12-point lead, the teams played evenly for the first 18-plus minutes of the second half. A three-pointer by Karl-Anthony Towns with 5:41 remaining gave the Timberwolves a 92-90 lead, and they never trailed again. Towns' subsequent three-pointer extended Minnesota's lead to five points, sealing their victory.
